Copyright and the Digital Economy

This document represents the second stage in the consultation process in the inquiry into whether the Copyright Act needs amendment to allow Australia to fully participate in a modern, digital economy.

The document was originally circulated requesting submissions (closed on July 31 2013) however the paper provides clear outline of the current definitions and problems and has been included here as a reference document.

It discusses definitions, problems and possible solutions in critical areas including commercial and non-commercial use, moral rights, Indigenous protocols, and fair use and third party use.
