Reconciliation Action Plan

This is Museums & Galleries of NSW’s third RAP, and our second Innovate RAP, which has become a vital vehicle for our organisation to monitor progress in areas supporting First Nations peoples, particularly, in our case, in supporting the Aboriginal arts, culture and heritage sectors. Our role as a service organisation ensures that having a RAP as part of our strategic direction, advances our advocacy and support of First Nations cultures, embedding this across our programs.

M&G NSW - Reconciliation Action Plan

What is a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)?

A RAP is a plan – a way of turning good intentions into actions. Every RAP is specific to each organisation and outlines the practical actions the organisation will take to build strong relationships and enhanced respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.

Based on the core pillars of relationships, respect, and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations’ self-determination.
