Safe COVID Cleaning for Collections – Webinar

Museum & Galleries of NSW partnered with International Conservation Services and Sydney Living Museums to present a webinar on the importance and risks of COVID cleaning. The expert conservation presenters covered how to approach regular and, if necessary, deep cleans of historic properties and collections.

The webinar covered the virus composition; how sanitising works; general guidelines on COVID cleaning; daily cleaning requirements and risks; and deep cleaning. How do you safely undertake daily sanitising and cleaning for collections and at historic properties, and make sure you are prepared should your property face the need for a deep clean, including:

  • Identifying vulnerable items and surfaces
  • Safety issues for personnel
  • Instructing sub-contractors

Presenters were Julian Bickersteth and Sarah-Jane Rennie.

Recorded on 24 September 2020
