reCollections : Caring for Collections Across Australia
reCollections : Caring for Collections Across Australia provides practical advice and guidance designed to help museums, galleries, and custodians of historical collections care for their heritage.
reCollections explains how to apply preventative conservation techniques to cultural objects and collections. Preventative conservation optimises the environmental conditions in which objects are housed. Controlling light and ultraviolet radiation, humidity and temperature, biological pests and dust pollutants helps to prevent damage and decay to cultural material. Preventative conservation also means ensuring that good handling, transportation, storage and display techniques are used at all times.
