How to Make a Book Support for Display
Books are often displayed open, but if they are not supported correctly, the spine and sections can be damaged. It is easy to make an archival book support for display. If a book is opened to a page near the front or back, it may only need a one-sided support. If it is open near the middle, it may need support on both sides. The following example is for a one-sided book support.
You will need:
- 4 ply acid-free mount board
- Ruler
- Stanley knife and cutting board
- Sandbag or folded tea towel
- PVA and brush
