Creating New Income: a toolkit to support creative practice
Creating New Income Toolkit is a resource to help individual creatives and small-to-medium organisations generate new income streams and increase their sustainability.
The toolkit has been developed by Create NSW in consultation with the industry to educate those working in creative industries and businesses on strategies that could help them to generate alternative income streams, increase their sustainability, leverage new commercial and philanthropic opportunities, and improve their overall business practice.
Offered as an online resource on the Create NSW website, the comprehensive set of 50 articles and case studies is an outcome of the Arts 2025 Summit held in March 2018, where business sustainability and new income sources were one of five main themes explored by the sector meeting.
Throughout the Toolkit you will find guides on a range of topics to inform and assist your revenue raising practices.
In this talk held at Sydney Opera House, January 31, 2019 an expert panel discusses how to leverage new commercial and philanthropic opportunities and improve overall business practice.
Elizabeth W. Scott, Executive Director Create Investment & Engagement, introduces the Toolkit and provides a short overview of how it works and its contents, and interview a panel made up of three representatives from the Case Studies used in the Toolkit and one of the authors of the Toolkit. The panel consists of Genevieve Clay-Smith, CEO Bus Stop Films, Gabrielle Mordy, CEO Studio A and Mikala Tai, CEO Gallery 4A, and David Sharpe, Sharpe Advisory.
