Shoalhaven Regional Gallery Director
Shoalhaven Regional Gallery is based on the South Coast, amongst diverse artistic and cultural communities and only 2.5 hours from Sydney and Canberra. The position is based at the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery located at 12 Berry St, Nowra, however you will be required to attend the Nowra Administration Building for meetings and as needed. The position is a full time, permanent 35 hours per week role from Monday to Friday.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Manager – Arts, Culture & Entertainment, the focus of this position is to:
– Lead and manage Shoalhaven Regional Gallery (SRG)
– Develop an exhibition program to engage and challenge audience
– Support and promote Shoalhaven artists
– Grow and exhibit the Shoalhaven City Art Collection representing the region’s diverse community, with a focus on First Nations art.
– Manage inclusive education and public programs to grow visitation.
– Build the Gallery’s brand, profile, and revenue to support programming, acquisitions, community engagement and cultural tourism.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
– Degree qualification in Arts and Culture, or equivalent experience in arts and cultural development.
– Demonstrated experience in managing, maintaining, servicing, and overseeing the daily operations of a public cultural, art or heritage facility.
– Class C Driver’s Licence
– Current First Aid & RSA Certificates (or ability to obtain within 1 month)
– Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
– Current NSW Working With Children Check
