LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB
As Research and Collections Officer you’ll play a vital role in supporting the cataloguing, interpretation, and recording of community, social history, and archive services offered by our Arts, Culture and Tourism department. This is an opportunity to combine your passion for history with your technical and organisational skills to make a significant contribution to preserving and sharing local heritage.
Central to this role is the creation and management of content in the collections database, alongside curating and expanding the community history website. Your work will ensure that our online collection remains open, accessible, and engaging for a broad audience.
You’ll be involved in community-focused activities, such as assisting with history-related customer inquiries and contributing to programs and exhibitions, including the annual History Illuminated Festival. Occasionally, you’ll assist with the installation of exhibitions, ensuring they are presented professionally and effectively.
