Inaugural Frank Van Straten Fellowship announced

Arts Centre Melbourne has just announced the inaugural Frank Van Straten Fellowship, which is open to people across Australia with an interest or expertise in any performing arts discipline or form of expression. Named after the performing arts historian and founding director of the Australian Performing Arts Collection (APAC), Frank Van Straten, the Fellowship will include special access to the APAC along with a stipend of $15,000.

Fellows will be given the time, space and support to undertake research aligned to the collection’s key subject areas: circus, dance, music, opera and theatre (which includes comedy, vaudeville and magic). Digital media artists, visual artists, conservators, musicians and composers, writers in all disciplines and subjects including historians, independent scholars and creators working either in collaboration or independently are eligible to apply.

Applications close on Friday October 25 2019 for a Fellowship which commences in March 2020.
