M&G NSW Board visit the Northern Rivers

Each year, the Board of M&G NSW visit a regional area of NSW to connect with organisations and get a deeper understanding of our diverse sector. This year marks the first time the Board have conducted one of these trips since 2019, with the decision being to visit flood affected communities in the Northern Rivers.

Board members Kylie Tung, Susi Muddiman, Judy Jaeger, Frank Zaknich, Tamara Hynd, Ray Christison, and Phil Gordon joined M&G NSW CEO Brett Adlington and Finance & Administration Manager John Thompson on a visit to flood-affected communities in the Northern Rivers.

It was a sobering experience to witness the ongoing impacts of these devastating floods, not just on the cultural organisations, but also on the broader community and businesses. Our Board certainly left with a greater understanding of the long road ahead for some of these organisations, as well as some of their more immediate needs. Thank you to the staff and volunteers of Byron School of Art; Mullumbimby Museum; Northern Rivers Community Gallery; Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum; Lismore Regional Gallery and Lismore Museum for making time and space to share their journey with us.

Brett Adlington, CEO, Museums & Galleries of NSW
