While attending the Access to Funding workshop at Hawkesbury Regional Museum earlier this month, we jumped at the opportunity to talk to Rebecca Turnbull about Flood!, the museum’s 2015 Imagine Award winning exhibition.
Flood! set out to raise awareness about what it means to live on a flood plain and how flooding has shaped the local community.
Engaging audiences through dramatic story-telling and effective visual displays, the exhibition features an innovative software program, Water Ride, which allows people to enter their street address to see how past and projected floods would affect their home. Creative visual displays effectively illustrate what has happened to people in the Hawkesbury in the past, and what could, and probably will, happen in the future.
