Curated by Joni Taylor from the New Landscapes Institute, this ground-breaking exhibition explores the history and the future of the Travelling Stock Routes network. This vast system of shared regional trails has inspired contemporary artists from across the country to respond with video, sculptural and sound-based installations.

The exhibition includes works by Zanny Begg, Megan Cope and Bill Buckley, Hayden Fowler, Future Method Studio, Grandeza, Josephine Starrs and Leon Cmielewski, and The Wired Lab.
The Long Paddock is a long-term project involving new research, experimental fieldwork, an exhibition, a catalogue and an ongoing public program. The project brings together a group of artists, architects and designers who have explored the past, present and future of Australia’s Travelling Stock Routes. Inspired by this vast network of routes and reserves that traverse the country, they have created 9 new artworks that respond to their current condition and speculate on what they might become.
The exhibition was devleoped with the support of Create NSW, The Australia Council for the Arts, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery & Performance Space.
Joni Taylor is the curator of the New Landscapes Institute, a nomadic research initiative that facilitates art and architecture collaborations. Previous projects include Groundwork: From the Archives Up and The Right of Way.
