New Partnership to Strengthen NSW’s Public Gallery Network

After many years of working in close collaboration, Museums & Galleries of NSW (M&G NSW) and Regional & Public Galleries of NSW (RPGNSW) have recently signed an agreement to enter into a more formal partnering arrangement.

RPGNSW is a member-based peak organisation representing 49 publicly funded galleries across regional and metropolitan NSW, including public galleries, contemporary art spaces and art museums. RPGNSW is governed by a voluntary committee of professionals actively working within the sector, with a focused mission to advocate for publicly managed galleries and art museums so they can deliver stimulating exhibitions and programs for their communities.

This new agreement outlines mutual aims of support between the partners, covering activities such as:

  • M&G NSW supporting administration of Alan Sisley Memorial Fellowship;
  • RPGNSW and M&G NSW supporting delivery of RPGNSW Biennial Conference;
  • RPGNSW support of annual IMAGinE Awards;
  • RPGNSW and M&G NSW working in closer partnership on member networking and communications.

In formalising this partnership, RPGNSW and M&G NSW anticipate a strengthened public gallery network across NSW.
