The Office of Environment & Heritage has announced that 33 applicants have been successful in this year’s round of the Heritage Activation grants. The assessment panel were overwhelmed with a total of 148 applications for funding, with a total request of over $10.3 million.
The panel noted the high standard of projects, and the assessment process was very difficult. In the end a broad range of projects were able to be supported.
The majority of projects are based in regional NSW, and benefiting heritage items include listed churches, community halls, pubs, cemeteries, a telescope, and the world’s first commercial solar thermal power station.
