Originally a country person although I spent many years in Sydney studying and working in the museum sector, I worked for the Historic Houses Trust (Sydney Living Museums) for 10 years in the areas of guiding, education programs, collection management and curatorial.
Joan has a passion for working with museums to facilitate the development of local and regional stories through heritage collections in engaging and sustainable ways.
Vanessa brings over 20 years of experience to her position as Managing Director of Acorn Creative Group from within the private sector, non-profit, State Government and Local Government as well as successfully running a busy independent consultancy for a number of years.
My background is in museums, tourism and community cultural development within a regional setting. This means I rely on and enjoy a partnership approach to projects with an emphasis on cross-community consultation.
My background is in Fine Arts and I have a double Honours Degree in Textiles and Art History. My doctoral research investigated the role of museum objects in storytelling, with the primary aim being to preserve the stories gathered and reconnect them to relevant artefacts and collections in Riverina museums.
Trained originally in Adelaide as a secondary art teacher, but with aspirations to be a scribbler and painter, champion sportsman and traveller, my background has been diverse, interweaving education, creative arts, management, farming and gardening, curatorial work and roaming various parts of the planet.
Over the past two decades Libby has worked as a volunteer, curator, community collections officer, Museum Advisor and consultant in the regional and community museum sector.
