Overview

Located in Dubbo NSW, Dundullimal Homestead is believed to be be the oldest surviving sophisticated slab house in Australia. Set in park-like grounds with sandstone stables, a timber church and a blacksmith’s forge, it provides a unique connection to Australia’s rural past and offers a museum with guided tours, café, events and venue hire opportunities.
As Visitor Experience Manager you are responsible for all aspects of the visitor experience, events and programming, ensuring Dundullimal Homestead is a welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic customer focussed Manager to take responsibility for oversight and management of the visitor experience at Dundullimal Homestead with support from a team of enthusiastic volunteers and the volunteer group known as the Dundullimal Dubbo Support Crew (DDSC).
The role requires a high level of coordination and operational management, exceptional people skills, as well as a deep understanding of what makes a good customer experience across a range of activities.
This is a part-time permanent position for 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The days of working may depend to some degree on property activities, and a high degree of flexibility is desirable.
About you
We are seeking an engaging customer service manager to take on this dynamic role. To deliver this role successfully, you’ll need to have:
• A keen eye for detail, taking on responsibility for all aspects of the visitor experience;
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering major events and programs;
• A great track record of leading and motivating volunteers;
• Strong organisation and planning skills, supporting and delivering all aspects of the visitor experience offer;
• Experience in producing performance reports (financial, visitation, collections, and interpretive items) to Senior Properties Manager as required;
• Ability to coordinate first responders and act as first point of contact for security and other emergency matters as they arise for Dundullimal Homestead;
• An understanding of the aims and ethos of the National Trust, in particular the ambition for developing the financial sustainability of properties.
