Team Leader, Local History

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated archival / local history professional to join Wavery Council as a Team leader – Local History.

Waverley Library, located in the vibrant heart of Bondi Junction, serves as a central hub for community engagement and learning in Waverley, NSW. The Library has a rich and expansive archival collection and is committed to preserving local history and promoting cultural enrichment within the community.

The Role
In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality local history services, provide leadership to the local history team and lead projects to enable the preservation, accessibility and showcasing of the archive.

What you’ll bring
– University level qualification in Library and Information Studies, Museum and Archives or other relevant area.
– Demonstrated experience in digitising and cataloguing a local history collection including experience in working with digital data, and metadata within a repository or data system context.
– 1-2 years’ experience in local history / archives, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff.
– Strong technical skills and a high level of digital literacy.
