Primary Education Program Specialist: EOI
The permanent exhibition installed in HMG, called St George Stories, presents the key historical and cultural milestones that have defined the area through text, objects and images. The exhibition is 10 years old and is currently being redesigned with new content, including audio visual material, that reflects the region’s diverse history and changing communities. The redesign will focus on truth telling and sharing the lived experiences of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and multicultural communities to increase representation, understanding, communication, trust, respect and belonging.
HMG is seeking to engage an Education Programs Specialist to develop Primary School Curriculum linked resources related to the new permanent exhibition. The key themes and objects in the exhibition include:
– Migration stories,
– First Nations storytelling,
– Communication and
– Transportation.
The curriculum linked resources will enable:
– self-guided learning for children in the space, and
– teaching and program delivery.
