Explore the rich maritime history of Newcastle and the Hunter River, and learn about the port's importance to the development of Australia from the early daysof European settlement to the present time.
We are located in the beautifully restored 1910 heritage harbour front wharf building. We will transport you via a series of interactive exhibits into the story of our harbour, the people and the events associated with it.
You will see some of the world's largest vessels guided bytugs on their way to load and idscharge their cargoes. Enjoy the sturdy timber fishing trawlers rturning with their catch, a picturesque parage of yachts and pleasure craft entering and leaving the port on their way to and from their destinations.
