Travelling Places is an M&G NSW devised program to support Aboriginal communities to digitally collect and manage their own cultural knowledge and heritage.
Piloted in the Wiradjuri towns of Leeton and Griffith, the program combines digital storytelling with the Mukurtu collections database for Indigenous protocols and an intellectual property/copyright workshop, aimed at establishing a virtual keeping place.
Two stories were shot and edited during the week long digital storytelling workshop. The video above is the shorter of the two, in which Aunty Patricia Undy of Darlington Point explains the major centres for Wiradjuri people across NSW and the ACT through her artwork.
The Travelling Places workshops are produced by M&G NSW with the Australian Film, Television and Radio School’s Indigenous Unit and Arts Law Centre of Australia’s Artists in the Black program and supported by the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation.
