Another in our series of interviews with regional and public gallery directors. We recently grabbed a moment with Brett Adlington, Director, Lismore Regional Gallery at the Regional & Public Galleries Conference.
Brett Adlington has been working in the regional gallery sector for 20 years. At Lismore Regional Gallery he has implemented an active program of self-generated exhibitions and offsite projects at popular music and arts festival Splendour in the Grass. He worked for six years as curator at Gold Coast City Art Gallery, with previous positions at both Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery and Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Townsville. Over his career Adlington has been responsible for curating over 40 exhibition projects, with many addressing particularities of place through contemporary art.
He holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a major in Photography, and a Graduate Diploma in Arts and Cultural Management, University of South Australia.
