How can museums and galleries connect with young people in a changing environment?

This free annual forum brings together staff and volunteers from regional and Western Sydney museums and galleries to network, share stories and engage with current topics relevant to the regions.

For the first time, the 2026 Regional Stakeholder Forum will be held across 2 days at Powerhouse Parramatta. Participants will examine how museums and galleries can connect with young people and how these spaces can strengthen community ties, celebrate local identity and create meaningful shared experiences.

10 bursaries of up to $500 will be offered by Powerhouse to support travel costs for attendees from regional NSW. To apply, please complete the form below

26—27 November 2026

Day one will focus on remote, regional and volunteer approaches to engaging with young people, while Day two will incorporate approaches from larger, salaried organisations. You can reserve both days, but you will need to make separate bookings for each day.
