Head, Curatorial and Collections

Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) is seeking an exceptional curatorial leader for the role of Head, Curatorial and Collections.

The Head, Curatorial and Collections leads development and delivery of a varied and innovative artistic program, drives strategic development and care of the Museum’s collection, and contributes to the operations and growth of MAMA as a member of the Senior Management team.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and deliver all aspects of a program of varied and innovative exhibitions and artistic projects both onsite and offsite, aiding the development of the museum’s programming goals.
• Oversee all aspects of the MAMA exhibitions and related program areas.
• Lead the strategic development of the MAMA collection, including all considerations of collection care to museum best practice standards.
• Contribute to a renewed strategic direction for MAMA that aligns with Council’s broader objectives and long-term sustainability goals.
• Identify funding opportunities, partnerships, revenue initiatives, and innovative approaches to program delivery.
• Lead and support change initiatives that strengthen MAMA’s relevance, impact, and resilience into the future.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including with donors, benefactors, and funding bodies, seeking to generate revenue for the museum.
