About the Role
Manage and lead programming for Sydney Cinémathèque, the home of the Art Gallery’s long-running cinema program. Curate ambitious, rigorous and dynamic cinema programs and communicate the importance of cinema and moving image to the Art Gallery’s audiences and stakeholders. Advise on and contribute to development of the time-based art collection where appropriate and curate film-related and moving image works into collection displays and larger exhibitions. Initiate and develop research projects. Collaborate with the Art Gallery’s wider curatorial and programs team to develop exhibitions and programs that build new, diverse and multigenerational audiences.

What Technical/Soft Skills you require
- Tertiary, postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma in art history, film history or equivalent and comprehensive knowledge of film history and current practice, coupled with extensive curatorial experience in the arts sector, art gallery or Art Museum sector.
- National and/or internationally recognised curator and scholar in the area of specialisation, with a substantial record of authoritative publications, research projects and exhibitions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required when dealing with senior executive, internal Gallery teams and external stakeholders.
