Curator
The Curator is a key role within the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum & Gallery team, and is responsible for looking after our collection, delivering a diverse range of exhibition programs, and working with our team of volunteers.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, and enjoy the challenge of working in a cross disciplinary position, with the ability to think laterally and pay attention to detail. With experience working within the museum and/or gallery sector, the Curator will work collaboratively to provide curatorial leadership and actively seek partnerships with other museums and galleries, community groups, artists, and cultural entities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Envision and curate engaging, innovative, high-quality exhibitions aimed at ensuring the best possible visitor experience for locals, regional communities and tourists.
• Manage temporary and touring exhibitions that are broad-based, diverse, and unexpected.
• Develop and curate the museum and gallery collections to ensure quality and value to the community.
• Implement and maintain curatorial and collection management best practice, industry standards, and sustainable processes.
