Bank Art Museum Moree
BAMM is a regional art institution with a difference. For thirty years we have worked to enhance the cultural life of Moree with a changing schedule of exhibitions that educate, challenge, and delight our local audience and visitors to the region. After 30 years of operation within our magnificent 1911 Edwardian-style building and the previous home of the Commercial Banking Co. of Sydney, the gallery re-branded as BAMM: Bank Art Museum Moree. The new name reflects the contemporary edge of our programs and highlights our history and responsibilities as a collecting institution.
With a strong balance between collection exhibitions and touring shows, BAMM is able to showcase a blend of Indigenous and non-Indigenous collection works alongside the latest in new art and technology in a regional setting. The nationally significant collection is the largest collection of contemporary Indigenous art in regional NSW with artists ranging from local favorites Margaret Adams and internationally renowned photographer Michael Riley, to the foundational Maw Mununggurr, John Tjakamarra and Judy Watson. All of which is the backdrop to regular art workshops, guided tours and fundraising dinners, with music events and even the odd wedding held in the gallery’s garden.
‘A magnificent building with something new inside it every time I visit!’
Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date with upcoming touring and collection exhibitions, workshops and community programs. A few highlights of the 2020 calendar will see the Archibald Prize come to BAMM in March, the annual BAMM Art Fair in June, a bridal fashion exhibition in September, the Moree Portrait Prize in Dec and much more!
