$2 million boost for Western Sydney arts community

 

The Western Sydney Strategic Programs funding for 2018-19 from Create NSW will support three new programs and a third year of the Making Spaces initiative which to date has activated 17 new spaces to support arts, screen and cultural projects.

The three programs to be funded include:

Western Sydney Arts & Cultural Projects – supporting professional arts and cultural projects delivered in Western Sydney by artists and arts and cultural workers living and/or working in the region at any stage of the creative process.
Applications open 12 October 2018 and close 19 November 2018.

Western Sydney Strategic Partnerships – supporting significant and long-term partnerships across and beyond the arts and cultural sectors, including local government authorities and public, private or community organisations.
Applications open 12 October 2018 and close 23 November 2018.

Western Sydney Making Spaces – in its third year, the program encourages arts, screen and cultural organisations to partner with property owners to activate new spaces for studios, rehearsal and residencies across the region.
Applications open 12 October 2018 and close 23 November 2018.

New opportunities for live music in Western Sydney will also be supported by Create NSW, developed in consultation with councils, the Live Music Office and Music NSW.
