About the Role
The Australian National Maritime Museum is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Coordinator, Content and Storytelling to join the Creative team in a full-time, non-ongoing role for a period of 18 months.
As the Project Coordinator, Content and Storytelling, you will play a key role in bringing innovative creative, digital, research, and exhibition projects to life, helping deliver engaging experiences that connect audiences with the Museum in meaningful ways. Working closely with the Program Delivery Lead, you will coordinate projects from concept to delivery, applying strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a proactive and creative thinker who enjoys working across multidisciplinary teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and contributing to impactful storytelling and audience experiences that inspire connection, curiosity, and discovery.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will demonstrate their capacity against the following:
1. Demonstrated experience coordinating and supporting the delivery of projects or events within defined timeframes and budgets including monitoring progress and supporting project governance and reporting processes.
2. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, track workflows and project activities, identify risks or issues and deliver agreed outcomes.
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare project documentation.
4. Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to team outcomes.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, inclusion, and organisational values.
What You’ll Bring
– Mandatory experience with project management tools and practices.
– Knowledge of governance and compliance processes in a cultural or public institution.
– Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
