Partnership Coordinator
Join us at the Australian Museum and help us achieve our Mission to ignite wonder, inspire debate and drive change
This is a parental leave backfill arrangement until early March 2026.
About the Team
The Partnerships team at the Australian Museum is part of the Marketing, Communications and Partnerships division. This Partnerships team is responsible for developing, managing and implementing strategic relationships that support the Museum’s exhibitions, research, education, and public programs. Working closely with corporate partners, government agencies, and cultural collaborators, the team drives income generation, audience engagement, and brand alignment opportunities. Their work ensures that the Museum continues to deliver meaningful, innovative, and inclusive experiences, while also advancing its mission to inspire the exploration and understanding of our natural and cultural worlds.
About the Role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual who is looking to build their professional experience in commercial partnerships within the arts and culture sector. With exceptional attention to detail, excellent administrative and organisational skills, you’ll play a vital role in helping the team deliver on key partnership commitments.
This position supports both the Senior Manager and Manager, Partnerships, and works closely with colleagues across the Australian Museum. As part of a small and collaborative team, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of projects and partner relationships. From new exhibitions and major programs to public events and education initiatives, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day activity that helps bring partnerships to life.
You’ll need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities, enjoy working with a broad mix of people, and take pride in clear and thoughtful communication. A typical week might see you balancing event logistics and stakeholder emails with CRM updates and writing post-campaign reports that demonstrate to our partners the impact of their support. You’ll be part writer, part bookkeeper, and part team player — someone who is across the detail, keeps things on track, and helps ensure every partner feels valued.
Employment Status:

Experience in the arts or cultural sector is welcome, but just as valuable is your interest in working in a purpose-driven environment. You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive team who play an important role in connecting partners to the Museum’s exhibitions, programs, education, and science.
