The Art Gallery Society of NSW (AGS) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee (Note: we are not a public service organisation) that runs the official Membership Program for the Art Gallery of NSW (AGNSW). Our purpose is to deliver a range of benefits, events and services to almost 30,000 members and to support AGNSW with financial assistance toward artwork acquisitions, programs and exhibitions – creating opportunities to enhance the experience of the Gallery for our members and the public.

If you enjoy working with a diversity of people we are looking for a person with professional experience in frontline customer service, hospitality, sales or membership roles and demonstrated experience in delivering face-to-face membership, visitor or customer services within a business, educational, community, tourism or cultural institution/organisation.

Location: Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney

Work type: Two years, Part-Time

Casual hourly rate:

15 hours – $23.67 ordinary hours (Monday – Saturday)

5 hours – $35.51 (Sunday)

The Membership Assistant (Members Lounge) is responsible for providing the highest standards of customer service in the Members Lounge and AGS reception to support: member acquisition and retention targets, event ticket sales, fundraising and donation drives and other campaigns that contribute to organisational goals and member satisfaction rates.

Working closely with colleagues in the Art Gallery, the Membership Assistant (Members Lounge) will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the AGS reception and Members Lounge facilities in a concierge role, hosting visiting members and their guests, answering their enquiries, providing memberships services and related transactions.
