We are seeking a talented and thoughtful Interpretive Designer to join our growing team. This permanent, full or part-time role offers a rare opportunity to shape how diverse audiences engage with history, heritage and place through design. As a storyteller, you will translate rich heritage narratives into evocative and engaging design outcomes — from interpretive signage and exhibitions to digital experiences. You’ll collaborate with leading consultants across archaeology, history, First Nations heritage and placemaking to deliver work that is both visually compelling and grounded in research. Alongside your interpretive work, you will contribute to business development activities, bringing polish and clarity to our marketing materials, branding, and tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead interpretive design from concept stage through to final documentation
• Create thoughtful, audience-focused design solutions across a range of media
• Work closely with internal heritage specialists to ensure historical integrity and creative cohesion
• Liaise with clients and external partners throughout project development and delivery
• Contribute to the visual identity of the business across tenders, presentations, and collateral
bout you and what we are looking for
• A strong portfolio demonstrating creative, interpretive, and/or exhibition design
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a design role, ideally with exposure to heritage, museums, or cultural work
• A solid understanding of layout, typography, and production processes
• Proficiency in the Adobe suite and other relevant software and
• An ability to balance creative ambition with clarity, accuracy, and user accessibility
• A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Experience designing for public spaces, exhibitions, or place-based projects is highly regarded, as is an interest in history, heritage, or archaeology.
This role will be based in our Sydney office, but interstate applicants are also encouraged to apply.
