Director, Museum Experience & Engagement
The Director, Museum Experience & Engagement reports to the Chief Executive Officer, Kim McKay AO, and will drive strategic and audience-centric exhibition and public program delivery. This role prioritises visitor engagement, brand, growth and domestic and international touring opportunities, as well as commercial activity encompassing retail and the events/venues business.
Serving on the Executive Leadership team, this leader will have a collaborative approach to working, managing a division of around approx.110 staff, who drive the development and implementation of exceptional exhibition-based programs, on-site, online and through outreach programs. In addition, the role oversees, develops and delivers strategies to increase the attendance, front-facing service delivery and revenue.
The role requires an inspiring and creative thinker who possesses strong local and international networks. As a proactive leader, the successful candidate will operate with integrity and a whole-of-museum mindset. With extensive experience in museum and/or public exhibition programming, curation, staging and design, the successful candidate will be a highly commercial executive with a track record of generating revenue growth. With a focus on complex exhibitions and events, the Director, Museum Experience & Engagement will bring financial acumen and a track record in time management, communications and stakeholder engagement.
