About Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios
Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios (GLC+CS) is a vibrant contemporary gallery and studio facility in the heart of Lane Cove on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Operated by Centrehouse Inc. in partnership with Lane Cove Council, we connect artists and the community through a professional exhibition program alongside a dynamic offering of studio classes, workshops, artist residencies and community engagement initiatives.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a friendly, organised and community-minded Administration Assistant to be the welcoming face of Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios.
As the first point of contact for visitors, artists, students, teachers and community members, you will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging experience for everyone who walks through our doors. You will support the Artistic & Programming Director and the Business & Operations Director in the day-to-day running of the gallery, creative studios and residency spaces.
This is a varied role that combines reception, customer service, administration and program coordination. You will help ensure the smooth delivery of exhibitions, classes, workshops, events and community activities while contributing to a professional, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Administrative and finance-related tasks form part of the role.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome visitors and provide exceptional customer service at gallery reception.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries via phone, email and in person.
- Support visitor, artist, student and participant engagement across gallery and studio programs.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Gallery’s two directors.
- Mange bookings, registrations and communications for classes, workshops, school holiday programs and events.
- Coordinate schedules, room bookings and operational logistics across gallery, studio and residency spaces.
- Liaise professionally with artists, teachers, students, volunteers, suppliers, partners and community stakeholders.
- Support exhibition openings, public programs and special events, including some after-hours activities.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and administrative systems.
- Manage financial administration, including invoice processing, payment tracking and reconciliations.
As a small and agile not-for-profit organisation, everyone contributes across multiple areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, building relationships and helping create outstanding experiences for our community.

- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, professional and approachable communication style.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Confidence using online booking systems, CMS systems, office software and databases .
- Experience in reception, administration, customer service or program coordination roles.
- MYOB finance administration experience, including invoice processing and reconciliations.
- A current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Availability to support after-hours exhibition openings and occasional events.
Experience in an arts, cultural, education or not-for-profit setting is highly regarded, but we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a passion for community engagement.

- Some after-hours work is required for exhibition openings and events.
- Contract term: Until 31 January 2028.
