Mid-North Coast Maritime Museum
Greater Port Macquarie is steeped in maritime history, and at the Maritime Museum’s three venues you have the opportunity to relive over 100 years of heritage as each provide a variety of exhibits.
The Museum encompasses two separate cottages which were originally built as pilot cottages in 1896. Now they house a wonderful collection of memorabilia and artefacts including superbly built scale models of a variety of vessels, charts, maps, paintings and an extensive collection of historical maritime photographs.
Within walking distance from town, approximately 10 minutes from the centre of town, drive by car or catch public transport.
The Mid-North Coast Maritime Museum is featured in our collaborative project Our Rivers – Our History involving seven museums on the Mid North Coast from the Manning Valley to the Macleay.
The Our Rivers – Our History website seeks to showcase some of the most significant objects held in our museums relating to our rivers and coastal waters which are such an integral part of our history.
