Inverell Art Gallery

The Inverell Art Gallery is a Community Gallery, operated by the Inverell Art Society. It has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere & is the perfect place to  browse if you are looking for a unique gift.

You’ll find a large range of local arts & crafts available for sale including paintings, pottery, cards, scarves, knitwear & timber products.

Regular exhibitions are held throughout the year featuring a variety of artists.  The Gallery also offers art classes & special interest workshops suitable for all levels.

The Inverell Art Society Competitive Exhibition is held each October & attracts artists from all around the country.  The Gallery also operates a gift shop where original local arts & crafts can be purchased.

A key feature of the gallery is the “Meandering Macintyre” footpath mosaic completed outside the Inverell Art Gallery. The footpath was designed & created by a group of volunteers associated with the Gallery as a gift to the local community. The design represents the flowing Macintyre River with splashes of colour from the native flora & fauna found in the area. This unique public artwork is 90cm wide & 94metres long.

It took over 3,000 volunteer hours to make. It may well be the longest continuous mosaic footpath in Australia!
