The inaugural Newcastle Podcast Festival will take place in Newcastle from Friday 19 – Sunday 21 February 2021 and aims to educate and entertain podcasters from all walks of life and be a celebration of the communicative art form itself. The festival offers professional development opportunities to those working in the GLAM sector as podcasting is an increasingly popular communication tool.

The event is presented as a partnership between Newcastle Podcast and Newcastle Libraries. The new Digital Library will act as the festival hub for three days of presentations from established and successful podcasters. Special evening events will be held at the Novotel Newcastle and Playhouse including a Podcast Awards ceremony and a stand up comedy show featuring an internationally renowned comedian.
