Projects
The SLNSW Photographic Galleries – Digital Kiosks Interface – 2023
Created user-friendly interface designs for digital kiosks to showcase the diversity of the photography collection. Each touchscreen provides comprehensive access to photograph details, extended captions, and high-resolution images, enhancing the visitor experience.
Atlas Club – Collaborative & Creative Community Space – 2023
This project required designing a unified online space to bring together the SLNSW creative clubs for young people to create a safe and engaging space for after-school activities. This online club allows children to explore art, writing, and reading while connecting with the Library’s rich collections. This space seeks to bridge onsite and online special events, fostering a creative community where children can learn new skills, share their work, and interact with peers in a fun and inspiring environment.
Imagine: The Wonder of Picture Books – Digital Exhibition – 2022
The brief was to create a playful, colourful, vibrant website that celebrates children’s literature and appeals to a broad audience. The abundance of rich source material allowed us to be delightfully creative and playful with the design while, at the same time, being mindful and respectful of the initial purpose and context of the illustrations. More content will be added to the website even after the exhibition closes to extend the longevity of visitor engagement and make this exhibition accessible to remote audiences to enhance the SLNSW’s profile as a destination for children’s literature.
Australian Greek Archives – SLNSW Community Collections – 2021 – 2022
Design a website to showcase new oral histories and involve the Greek community in expanding the archive through public events and social media. The website connects with other SLNSW collections, serving as a portal to the rich archives of photos, letters, and diaries related to the Greek community and driving community contributions to the collection.
Sydney Elders – Digital Exhibition – 2021
This online exhibition project aims to translate the physical exhibition into a digital format while retaining and respecting the spirit of the original installation. It highlights the stories of four Elders (traditional owners) from the Sydney Elders exhibition, showcasing how they continue their ancestors’ legacy through contributions to the city. In designing the online representation, we focused on preserving the intimacy of the Elders’ narratives and recreating the circular storytelling and overlapping voices in the physical exhibition. Our visual design solution retained the original exhibition’s tone, colour, and style.
The SLNSW Collection Experience – UX Design – 2019
The State Library of New South Wales launched a project to create a unified digital interface for all its collections. The goal was to allow all library users to search and browse the extensive library catalogue easily, intuitively, and enjoyablely.
Our involvement in the project included providing UX design services to aid in problem definition and conducting co-design workshops to set clear objectives. We interviewed subject matter experts to understand their research habits and brainstorm potential features. User journey mapping workshops were held to prioritise features and releases based on user feedback and strategic goals. Additionally, we created clickable prototypes that allowed stakeholders and users to provide feedback, ensuring that the design aligned with their requirements and expectations.
Tourism Australia – Creative Concept Design and Customer Engagement Strategy
We conceptualised innovative digital experiences for Tourism Australia, exploring ways to leverage their rich content library. Our concept designs centred on three key customer engagement opportunities: an interactive trip planner powered by local expertise, a personalised digital travel journal, and an augmented reality (AR) quest system. These concepts incorporated gamification elements throughout the user journey, from onboarding to location-based AR activities at tourist sites, presenting new ways to blend education with entertainment. The proposed engagement strategy focused on encouraging user-generated content while delivering expert recommendations, with the potential to build traveller communities through hyper-personalisation and social features. These concepts were designed to strengthen Tourism Australia’s brand presence, create opportunities for travel partner collaboration, and provide insights into traveller engagement patterns.
