The Art of Ageing

The Art of Ageing

The NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) are calling for expressions of interest from museums, galleries and libraries in the state to host a new exhibition titled Art of Ageing 2020.

The photographs and narratives were commissioned by FACS and comprise works by regional NSW photographers who have captured images of senior Australians who defy the stereotypes of ageing.

The exhibition aims to turn perceptions of older people on its head by capturing the stories and images of capable and diverse older people. This 2020 exhibition follows  Art of Ageing Exhibition 2018 which successfully toured to over 25 venues in NSW over two years.

The 2020 exhibition is available in two formats:

Exhibition Package A is comprised of 24 large photographs mounted expertly on gataboard and accompanying text panels that include the stories of the subjects. The works are easy to hang and look wonderful.

The exhibition needs approximately 30 running metres of wall space plus optional TV monitor for a digital audio visual presentation. Exhibition Package A is best suited for galleries and larger spaces.

Exhibition Package B is comprised of six hinged concertina panels and one introduction/acknowledgements panel. A TV monitor for a digital audio visual presentation is optional. This compact exhibition is suited to smaller spaces.

The exhibition fee is free.
