In 2025, Museums & Galleries of NSW will be working with five museums in the New England region as part of our annual Standards Review Program:
- Armidale & Region Aboriginal Cultural Centre & Keeping Place
- Calala Cottage
- Moonbi Museum
- Tamworth Astronomy and Science Centre
- Australian Country Music Hall of Fame
The Standards Review Program is a nine-month professional development program designed specifically for small to medium museums, galleries, and Aboriginal cultural centres. It supports participants to assess their practices against the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries, helping them celebrate what they do well and identify areas for growth.
Participants receive tailored feedback and guidance from experienced industry professionals known as Standards Reviewers, gaining valuable insights, expert advice, and support throughout the process.
The program not only helps raise the profile of participating organisations but also provides a strong foundation for future planning and sustainability.

The Standards Program is funded by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
