The Great Synagogue Museum
Located within the Great Synagogue itself and founded in the 1980s, the AM Rosenblum Jewish Museum showcases an outstanding collection of Jewish artefacts including textiles, ritual silver and paintings. Exhibitions change periodically.
The collection includes embroidered vestments, illuminated addresses, a portrait gallery of former rabbis and presidents, crafted silver rimonim and other ritual objects, photographs and much more.
Visitors are shown a DVD which deals with the history of the Jewish community in Australia, the history of The Great Synagogue itself and some information on basic Judaism.
Pre-booked tours are also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 10am or 2pm for special interest groups and schools.
The Great Synagogue Shop
Featuring books and kippot made from fabrics with aboriginal motifs, father and son kippots, kippots made from Australian prints and reversible kippots in a variety of colours.
Rabbi L. A. Folk Memoriale Library
The Library holds more than 6,500 books in Hebrew, English and a variety of European languages which are predominantly of antiquarian interest, including rare books and early printed Bibles.
