Head of Programming & Engagement
City of Newcastle (CN) currently has a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head of Programming & Engagement to join our Museum Archive Libraries & Learning (MALL) service unit and play a vital role in MALL’s senior leadership team.
The Head of Programming & Engagement will plan and execute the vision, direction and strategic future of Newcastle’s Museum and Libraries, as well as playing a significant strategic role in contributing to the cultural direction of Newcastle’s Museum and Libraries; driving and leading the activation, engagement and reputation of our service unit and the City of Newcastle.
Drawing upon demonstrated industry experience, you will manage all aspects of planning and executing community activating programming and online engagement, leading leaders for the benefit of the diverse needs and interests of our visitors, members and city. You will also lead the cultural direction of MALL program through the delivery of high-quality, diverse, inclusive programming, events and online engagement for members, visitors and the city that demonstrate museum and library leadership on a national level.
With two direct reports, Program Lead and Engagement Coordinator plus a team of 13 programmers and engagers, this role will see you will lead the Programming and Engagement teams to ensure staff are developing, engaged, aware of their responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities and achieve project objectives in a timely manner and within agreed budget and delegation.
