Deputy Editor, Look
The Deputy Editor assists in all aspects of the production of Look magazine, the bimonthly members publication. This position works closely with the Editor to write, commission and edit content for each print issue and for the website.
This position works with the Editor to support the production of editorial content for the magazine and Look pages on the Art Gallery Members website. The Deputy Editor is responsible for writing articles, taking in edits, managing versions, liaising with writers, designers and photographers, managing production deadlines, sourcing images for each issue, managing the licensing of images for use and identifying potential story ideas.
Look is a bimonthly 84-page arts publication that is a key benefit of Art Gallery membership, enhancing their experience of the Art Gallery. Look takes readers on a deep exploration of the art on show at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, bringing artists, artworks and ideas directly to readers’ homes. Look reaches more than 36,000 subscribers through our print and digital offerings and is sold in the Gallery Shops.
The Deputy Editor supports the production of the magazine and online content. They are required to liaise and communicate with a range of internal and external contributors and stakeholders.
