Do you prepare object labels and displays for a small museum or gallery? Do you often think: How much text should I write? What should I include? What size font should I use? If you have ever asked yourself any of these questions, this workshop is for you. Designed for staff and volunteers of small museums and the collecting sector, this one-day program includes a workshop, tour and light lunch.

Two Powerhouse editors share their knowledge and insights into preparing labels for exhibitions and displays. The workshop includes essential information for anyone involved in preparing exhibition labels and provides practical examples, exercises and take-home notes.

Following the workshop, participants will take a one-hour tour of I Store led by a Powerhouse registrar. IStore is a new storage facility for small to medium-sized objects and provides an example of best practice collection management. Participants on this tour you will gain behind-the-scenes access and find out more about how this facility was designed to house objects for optimum conditions.
