The Art Consulting Association of Australia (ACAA) is the peak industry body for art consultants in Australia. They connect individuals and businesses to the services of arts consultants and define the benchmark of ethics, expertise and excellence in visual arts.
ACAA has launched a new eMagazine called CANASS which contains reviews, news and interviews in the visual arts field in Australia.
Hot off-the-press, the inaugural issue of CANVASS features reviews of the highly successful Sydney Contemporary Art Fair and the Venice Biennale. There’s a commentary piece on the exhibition Australia: Contemporary Voices currently on show in London.
The feature article in this issue is an in-depth interview by Jane Raffan with four of America’s biggest Aboriginal art collectors. Read about Will Owen and Harvey Wagner who have just donated their entire collection to the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College which is backed up by Ancestral Modern – the blockbuster exhibition of Aboriginal artworks owned by Margaret Levi and Bob Kaplan recently shown at the Seattle Art Museum.

A book review of Katrina Stickland’s Affairs of the Art – Love, Loss and Power in the Art World published by the Melbourne University Press makes good reading – especially for those who thrive on behind-the-scenes stories. The online magazine offers a comprehensive listing of exhibitions at some of the main commercial galleries on the east coast as well as a quirky arts crossword puzzle.
CANVASS will include regular features such as Pick Your Arts, vox pop of members, favourite show and events and current projects by ACAA members. ACAA encourage feedback and invite viewers to submit their opinions on important industry events.
