Gallery & Curatorial Assistant
The Gallery & Curatorial Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of The Lock-Up’s exhibitions, public programs, events and residencies, while ensuring a high-quality and inclusive visitor experience. Working closely with the Curator and Director, the role bridges front-of-house operations and curatorial support, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery and the professional presentation of artistic programs.
This full-time, fixed-term position is suited to an early-career arts professional with tertiary training and experience in gallery, museum or cultural settings. Responsibilities include supporting exhibition installation, artist liaison, events and audience engagement, supervising casual staff and volunteers, and assisting with administration, reporting and marketing activities. The role offers broad, hands-on experience across curatorial, operational and public-facing aspects of a contemporary arts organisation.
