Northern Rivers Military Museum
The Northern Rivers Military Museum is located at the Casino Drill Hall and aims to educate residents and visitors alike on local involvement in all world wars and conflicts. The museum is designed to accurately express the region’s military history, as well as share the victories, tragedies and sacrifices of those who served their country and acknowledge the families of the veterans, and embraces the community’s enrichment from the cultural and educational diversity people brought to the region during their service and, in many cases, brought back when they returned.
Preserving the region’s military heritage from the formation of the Light Horse regiments in nearby Tabulam. Through the turmoils of the First World War, the memory of Camp Victory and it’s use by the Dutch East Indies Army during World War Two. Through the conflicts in Korea, Malaya, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Including the peacekeeping missions and natural disaster responses into the modern day.
Located in the old Casino Drill Hall, next to the Casino Visitor Information Centre, in a tastefully decorated parkland. There is ample parking for cars and caravans onsite. With picnic tables for travellers passing by, pay their respects at our War Memorial or stopping to enjoy our displays. Many community functions are hosted within our grounds.
