Artefact Heritage and Environment is a collaboration of heritage professionals who are proud to provide ‘best practice’ cultural heritage management and interpretation services. We have links with a wide range of heritage specialists throughout Australia and our strong relationships with local Aboriginal communities ensure that we can facilitate outstanding heritage outcomes.
Artefact is experienced in managing heritage interpretation projects, as well as archaeology and cultural heritage management projects, for both commercial and government clients, from targeted urban developments to large scale infrastructure projects. We are experienced in sensitively managing stakeholder consultations, have worked with Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Registered Aboriginal Parties and community organisations, and are committed to ensuring authentic involvement of Aboriginal voices in interpretive development. We maintain a highly collaborative approach to project delivery, both with clients and key stakeholders, and frequently work with architects, designers and urban planners to develop sound and innovative heritage outcomes and interpretive solutions.

- Gerringong to Berry Highway Upgrade (RMS) – heritage interpretation plan, development of content and design for a series of roadside interpretive panels, 2019-20
- Central Station Main Works (Laing O’Rourke/Sydney Metro) – Aboriginal Heritage Interpretation Strategy, Aboriginal stakeholder consultation, and management of Aboriginal artist input into major works, archaeological interpretation planning, 2018-ongoing
- The Store, Newcastle (TfNSW, GHD, DOMA) – Heritage Interpretation Strategy, Salvage Strategy, heritage interpretation content development, digital Oral History project, 2017-19
- Sydney Metro South West (Sydney Metro) – Heritage Interpretation Strategy, interpretive material development including consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders, content development of a series of interpretive elements at each Metro station, 2019-21
- Newcastle Light Rail (Cox Architecture) – Heritage Interpretation Plan, interpretive content development for a series of interpretive elements along the light rail route, liaison with Aboriginal and community stakeholders, and designers/architects, 2016-18
- Oakdale South Industrial Estate (Goodman) – Heritage Interpretation Plan, detailed content development, consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders, design of interpretive elements incl on site and off site displays and public talks, 2018
- Moorebank Intermodal Terminal (Arcadis/QUBE) – Heritage Interpretation Strategy, and detailed interpretation plans including Aboriginal stakeholder, Council and historical society consultation, development of content for displays, panels and web pages, 2018-20
