
Museums & Galleries of NSW is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the 2025 Round 1 Small Grants.
This round saw a strong field of applications, with projects focused on exhibition development, collection care, and collection management. Each submission reflected the remarkable dedication and passion that volunteers bring to their museums and communities.
The Volunteer Museum Grant Program is a Create NSW devolved funding program, administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW on behalf of the NSW Government.
The successful Small Grants Round 1 recipients are:
Nowra Museum
$ 2,000 – To engage a conservation book binder to conserve and archivally store the Hugh Mackenzie Presentation Album, 1913.
Wyalong Museum
$ 1,300 – Preserve, conserve & digitise letters, photos and audio.
Woolpack Inn Museum Holbrook Inc
$ 1,980 – to conserve two peanuts dolls that are part of the collection.
Tamworth Regional Film and Sound Archive
$ 1,984 – To purchase two lockable showcases to house and display significant audio-visual artefacts from the museum’s collection.
Nyngan Museum
$ 970 – To design, purchase and install interpretive signage at the Nyngan Museum encapsulating historical information from Nyngan’s beginning in 1883 to the closure of the railway station in 1990.
Callara Culture & Heritage Aboriginal Corporation
$ 2,000 – To purchase a museum quality cabinets.
Mount Erin Heritage Centre
$ 2,000 – To purchase display signage.
Port Macquarie Museum
$ 450 – To engage a graphic designer to design a promotional brochure
Mid North Coast Maritime Museum Inc
$ 2,000 – To purchase a museum quality cabinet.
Singleton Historical Society and Museum Inc
$ 929 – To purchase signage stands for exhibition displays at the Singleton Museum
Canowindra Historical Society and Museum Inc
$ 535 – To purchase flood mitigation equipment
Griffith Italian Museum and Cultural Centre Inc
$ 2,000 – To construct wall displays or museum.
EM Lane Concordians Museum
$ 2,000 – To engage a textile conservator to professionally clean nurses’ uniforms and to assist with appropriate future storage
