Over the past two decades Libby has worked as a volunteer, curator, community collections officer, Museum Advisor and consultant in the regional and community museum sector. She has also represented the sector as an advocate on a state government museum advisory committee, as a director on the board of M&G NSW and has also been involved in the chapter network and executive of Museums Australia (NSW).  Libby graduated from Deakin University with a Post Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies in 2004.

Libby has hands on experience in all aspects of collection management, significance assessment, strategic planning, research, curatorial management, exhibition design and interpretation.

Currently, she is the Museum Advisor for the Tenterfield Shire and Clarence Valley Councils.
