Angela has recently been appointed as Museum Advisor for the Bega Valley Shire. Describing herself as a life-long learner, her formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (History / English Literature) from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Science (Museum Studies) from Deakin University. She is currently undertaking Indigenous Studies through the University of Tasmania.
Born and raised on the far south coast, she has had around twenty-five years’ experience in the heritage management and interpretation field, has written and contributed to a number of local history publications and has built up a close working relationship with many of the museums in the region.
As well as the Museum Advisor’s position and various voluntary heritage positions, current projects include curator of the online Museum of the South East (MoSE), and curator of the Merimbula RSL Club’s Community Cultural Display Case. Other recent assignments have included artefact and collection significance assessments, volunteer significance statement training, collection preservation and cultural tourism.
She is proud to have been chosen to support the passionate, dedicated band of volunteers that collect, care for, interpret and promote the shire’s amazing cultural heritage.
